This Privacy Policy describes how Soruki Edtech Limited dba Curios Metaverse the University of Hong Kong (collectively, Curios and also referred to as our, us and we) collects, uses and discloses personal data, as well as any choices you have with respect to this personal data.
When we refer to “Curios”, we mean the Curios entity that acts as the controller or processor of your personal data, explained in more detail in the “Identifying the Data Controller and Processor” section below.
Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to information processed by us, including our websites (the “Sites”), our mobile and desktop applications (the “Apps”), and our related online and offline offerings (collectively, the “Services”).
This Privacy Policy does not apply to any third-party applications or software that embed into our Services (“Third-Party Services”), or any other third-party products, services or businesses.
Information we collect
We may collect the following types of information when you use our services:
Account Information. When you visit or use our websites or services, our servers automatically capture information about your activity and store it in log files. This may include your user name, email address, organization information, selected avatar, the Internet Protocol (IP) address, the type and configuration of your browser, the date, time, and location you visited the Services. The staff or student number will be automatically gathered when you log in via HKU SSO.
Virtual Spaces. You are able to create a virtual space and visit virtual spaces created by others. We collect and store content, including texts, images, videos, documents, forms, links, background music, that you upload from your own device and embed from the third-party applications such as Google Drive, OneDrive, YouTube, and Miro, etc.
Interactive Features. You are able to give feedback to others’ artefacts such as likes, comments, and voting. The feedback data would be recorded and allowed to be downloaded by the space managers.
Collaboration Form. We collect personal information from you such as your email address, name, organization, and your enquiry when you request information about our Services, register for our newsletter, request customer or technical support, or otherwise communicate with us.

To promote our products and services: To keep you update with latest functionalities and events of Curios, we may use personal information to tailor and provide you with content and advertisements. You can unsubscribe our newsletters or other promotional emails anytime or contact us If you have any questions about our marketing practices.

Operationally Necessary. This includes technologies that provide you access to our services and are necessary for us to detect unusual behavior, stop fraud, strengthen security, or give you access to certain features;

Functional Related. We may provide you with enhanced functionality. This may entail recognizing you when you join into our services;

Through your control of the share setting on Curios, you choose who you wish to share your content on Curios with when you use the Services.

Provided are: (i) services; (ii) products, information, and other services you have requested; (iii) marketing and advertising; (iv) customer service operations; and (v) information technology and associated services. We do so in line with relevant legislation, which might require a data processing agreement or amendment.
APIs and Software Development Kits. We may use third-party APIs and software development kits ("SDKs") as part of the functionality of our Services. APIs and SDKs may allow third parties to collect your personal information in order to provide content more relevant to you, subject to applicable law.
To comply with the law. If we receive a request for personal data, we may disclose personal data if we have reason to believe that the disclosure is in compliance with or required by any applicable law, regulation or legal process.

Children’s information
The product will either prohibit users under the appropriate age or request parental or guardian permission or authorisation before allowing them to use it if that age is applicable in your jurisdiction. We won't purposefully request more information from children under that age than is necessary for the product.
Once parental consent or authorisation has been obtained, a child's account will be treated the same as any other account. Children are free to communicate and share data with other users of all ages.
Parents or guardians may change or withdraw previous consent choices and review, edit or request the deletion of personal data of children for whom they have provided consent or authorisation.

As required by relevant legislation, we will let you know if this Privacy Policy undergoes any significant changes.
